Nestled at 103 E Front St, this cozy restaurant masterfully balances comfort and flavor, making it a must-visit for locals and travelers craving authentic, satisfying meals.

The menu is a treasure trove of classic favorites that tempt the palate with every bite. Imagine biting into their crispy, golden Onion Rings—the perfect balance of crunch and natural sweetness. The Fried Green Tomatoes, lovingly prepared, offer a tangy, crisp-forward appetizer that pairs beautifully with a creamy ranch dip. For seafood lovers, the Catfish Dinner and the 2 PC Fish Dinner deliver flaky, tender fish fried to a perfect golden brown, evoking the best of Southern coastal flavors.

Beyond seafood, the menu boasts hearty options like the Chicken Strip Plate (3 pieces), which is juicy, flavorful, and accompanied by your choice of crispy sides such as Tater Tots or Hush Puppies. The option of pairing a baked potato with a “stick of butter” adds a nostalgic touch that elevates the meal to soul-satisfying comfort food. For those craving hearty beef, the Chopped Steak with Baked Potato and Side Salad and the Reuben Sandwich with House Made Chips offer bold, savory flavors that don’t disappoint.

Salad lovers have equally enticing choices including the fresh and vibrant Combination Salad, the indulgent Chef Salad, or the protein-packed Fried or Grilled Chicken Salads. The friendly, inviting atmosphere at Dairy King instantly makes guests feel like part of the family. As reviewer Tonya beautifully put it, the service is not only efficient with minimal wait times, but genuinely warm and attentive. Cyndi’s words, highlighting the “homey and friendly” vibe, perfectly capture the essence of this quaint spot. The limited seating ensures an intimate dining experience without feeling crowded, allowing families and friends to relax and savor their meals comfortably.

No visit to Dairy King would be complete without indulging in their famed ice cream treats. From the nostalgic Twist Ice Cream Cone to the decadently rich Hot Fudge Buttered Pecan Sundae, each dessert promises to be a blissful finale that delights both kids and adults alike. Angela Meyers’ reflection on returning here as a child and sharing the ice cream magic with her own children perfectly underscores the timeless appeal.

Whether you’re craving crispy catfish, a juicy burger, or a sweet ice cream cone, Dairy King welcomes you with open arms and a plate full of comfort.

This was my very first time to dine at Dairy King. I've heard only positive things about the place so we went there today for my sons 29th birthday. From our waitress, the wait and the food I gave it 5 stars across the board. There were 4 people in our party and we all gave it 5 stars! Our waitress was friendly, the place was clean, minimum wait time for food and the food was so good! I ordered the Ruben sandwich & seasoned fries and it was the BEST Ruben sandwich I have ever had! My sons had the catfish and a triple cheeseburger and they to had NO complaints!! I live in Walnut Ridge and Dairy King in Portia has now become my new favorite place to eat!!! Highly recommend!!

The ice cream/burger stop of my childhood and it's still here! The ice cream was exactly the pick-me-up I needed. My children got to experience it for the first time.

My only critique is that the burger was not hand made. The grill must be well seasoned though because it tasted delicious. You couldn't ask for nicer people. There's not a ton of room inside but you're definitely not cramped together with other people. The fried green tomatoes were delicious! I do think they're frozen but they are really good; especially with ranch. We can't wait to try the milkshakes next time. This time we enjoyed some of the delicious sweet tea.

This was the best place we have ever eaten. Food was fast and super hot. You got a lot for your money. Will definitely come back to this place next time we're in town.

Food is always really good.vSo is the ice cream I've been coming here for about 6 months now with friends and family and everything we try is great food wise. Service isn't always the greatest but they're usually pretty busy too so you can kind of understand it. I guess you just kind of sort of know when you go there it's going to take a little bit of time.
